Prof. Dr. Ernst Hafen, Director of Studies, Department of Biology, ETH Zurich
Ernst Hafen, PhD, will show us new opportunities in using personal health data for better treatment results. He is a Professor of Systems Genetics at ETH Zurich and former President of ETH. In addition to over 30 years of academic research, he has founded and advised several biotechnology companies. Ernst Hafen endeavors to assist scientific discovery and its efficient translation into products that help society and the economy. He posits that an individual’s control over his or her personal health data will be a key asset for better and more effective health care.
Andreas Filler, Doctoral Researcher and Developer, Center for Digital Health Interventions
Andreas Filler is doctoral researcher, developer and co-founder of a startup company delivering digital therapies. He developed a platform to provide text-based healthcare chatbots to support patients and health professionals in therapeutic settings beyond on-site consultations. In his talk he we will present the design and implementation of a childhood obesity intervention solution. A study conducted as a randomized control indicates promising results with respect to intervention adherence and scalability of his approach.
Dr. Ben Bridgewater, Director Global Advisory Health Care & Life Sciences, DXC Technology
Ben Bridgewater will share his experiences how healthcare providers can empower employees and patients using digital devices and services. He is a former cardiac surgeon and remains a Professor of Health Informatics in Manchester. He led the UK national cardiac surgery audit, driving transformation of mortality outcomes on behalf of NHS England, supporting patient empowerment and engagement with their healthcare delivery. He has been described by Health Service Journal judges as "one of the leaders in measuring quality in the NHS". Today, at DXC Technology he plays a leading role developing innovative solutions and guiding healthcare providers in digital transformation.
